When I was a kid I got my start in the kitchen cooking sweets. Strawberry Shorthcake was one of my favorites. I would always sneak in a bit of extra sugar.
Now as an adult I generally don't care for sweets. I tried this one tonight in an effort to learn how to make deserts for my daughters.
My adult version though features macerated strawberries with rasberry basalmic vinagrette and chiffonade basil.
